Kang Sung Yun is a South Korean actress and singer. She graduated from Seocho High School and later attended Seoul Institute of the Arts but dropped out of the Broadcasting and Media program and switched to Hannam University where she obtained a bachelor's and a master's degree in Social Welfare. She made her acting debut through the MBC open recruitment for actors in 1996 debuting in the drama "Medical Brothers" the next year. She released two albums between 2001 and 2002 under the stage name Bobo but her main focus was acting. She gained popularity after her role in the film "King and the Clown" and landed more roles in TV and also her own poetry reading radio show on EBS. She married pianist Kim Ka On on 2012 and had a child in 2014. After some time off, she returned to TV with a role in the KBS drama "Mother of Mine" in 2019.
